Hunt to Run at Olympic Trials Saturday

Former Central Connecticut cross country and track & field standout, Craig Hunt (2014), will race in the marathon at the 2020 U.S. Olympic Team Trials on Saturday, Feb. 29. The race will be broadcast live on NBC across the country. The broadcast will begin at 12 p.m. EST and conclude at 3 p.m. The men's race will start promptly at 12:08 p.m. followed by the women's race at 12:20 p.m.
2020 US OLYMPIC TEAM TRIALS - MARATHON INFORMATION
Hunt qualified for the trials back on June 22, 2019 at Grandma's Marathon in Duluth, MN. Hunt completed the 26.2 miles in 2:15.26 and finished fifth overall in a field of over 6,000 runners.
On September 1, 2019, Hunt represented USA at the 50K World Running Championship in Romania. He finished 10th overall with a time of 2:51.42 and was the second member of Team USA to complete the course.
During his time at CCSU, Hunt was a six-time Northeast Conference Champion. In 2013, he was the NEC individual champion for cross country, won the gold in the 3,000 and 5,000 meter races during the indoor season and qualified for the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
In his senior year, Hunt held his title for the indoor 5,000 meter and during the outdoor season he earned the gold in the 5,000 and 10,000 meter races. Hunt also qualified for the 2014 NCAA Tack and Field East Preliminary Round.
