Blue Devils Tied for Sixth After Day One at NECs
Round two will take place on Saturday in Florida
The Central Connecticut women's golf team sits in a tie for sixth place after the first round of the 2014 Northeast Conference Women's Golf Championships played on Friday. The tournament is being held at the LPGA International Captain's Course in Daytona Beach, Florida.
The Blue Devils shot a day one score of 326, good for a sixth place tie in the eight team field. They are just six shots out of fourth place. LIU Brooklyn leads the tournament with a round one score of 299, followed by St. Francis U (305), Robert Morris (313), Sacred Heart (320), Fairleigh Dickinson (322), Wagner (326) and CCSU and then St. Francis College (347).
Junior Albrianna Farnum led the Blue Devils with a score of 79, putting her in a tie for 11th place overall. Freshman Kaitlyn Stoddart is tied for 18th with a score of 82. Sophomore Sarah Boden shot 82 and sits in a tie for 23rd. Freshman Ella Williams shot 84 and is tied for 29th place overall. Senior Nicole Pizzoferrato shot 89 and is tied for 34th place.
The second round of the tournament will tee off on Saturday morning. The third and final round is Sunday.
