Women's Golf Moves Up on Day Two at Yale
Blue Devils cut 12 strokes off day one total on Saturday
The Central Connecticut women's golf team moved up one spot after the second round of the Yale Women's Fall Intercollegiate on Saturday. The tournament is being played at The Course at Yale. Central shot a day two 319 as a team, moving up to 15th place. Central has a two-day total of 650.
Junior Albrianna Farnum moved up to a tie for 44th place after a second round 76. She cut five strokes off her day-one score and sits at +15 for the tournament.
Freshman Ella Williams shot an 80 in her second round, putting her at +19 and in a tie for 59th place. Sophomore teammate Sarah Boden cut five strokes from her day one score and shot a 78 on day two, putting her in a tie with Williams and one other golfer in 59th.
Freshman Kaitlyn Stoddart shot an 85 and sits at +29, good for a tie for 79th. Senior Nicole Pizzoferrato shot an 89 and is in 86th. All five Blue Devils shot a better score in round two than in round one.
Yale leads the tournament, followed by Xavier, Penn, Boston University and Seton Hall in the top five. The Blue Devils sit ahead of both Quinnipiac and Sacred Heart in the standings after the second day.
The third and final round will be played at The Course at Yale on Sunday morning.
