Women's Golf Finishes 15th at Yale
Boden and Farnum shoot 77 on Sunday to lead CCSU
The Central Connecticut women's golf team finished in 15th place following the third and final round of the Yale Women's Fall Intercollegiate on Sunday. The tournament was played at The Course at Yale. Central matched its second round total with a score of 319.
Blue Devil junior Albrianna Farnum and sophomore teammate Sarah Boden each shot a day three score of 77 to lead CCSU. The 77 marked the best score of the tournament for Boden, who finished in a tied for 47th place with a three-day total of 238.
Farnum's 77 was one stroke off her best round, which came on Saturday. She finished in a tie for 38th place after shooting 81-76-77, for a three-day total of 234.
Freshman Ella Williams was consistent all weekend for the Blue Devils, and matched her low round with an 80 on Sunday. She shot 81-80-80 and finished in a tie for 59th place.
Kaitlyn Stoddart, a freshman, was also consistent, shooting 86-85-85 and finishing in a tie for 79th place. Senior Nicole Pizzoferrato shot a 93 on Sunday and finished tied for 85th overall.
Central's team score of 969 was 19 shots ahead of Quinnipiac and 28 shots ahead of Northeast Conference foe Sacred Heart.
Yale won the team title, followed by Xavier, Penn, Seton Hall and Boston University.
Central is back in action on Oct. 14-15 at the Rutgers Invitational.
