Women's Golf 8th at Benbow Collegiate Tournament
Farnum leads CCSU and ties for ninth place overall
The Central Connecticut women's golf team finished in eighth place at the Butler University Benbow Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday. The Blue Devils cut 10 strokes off of their round one score and shot a team total of 340 on the second day. They two day score of 690 was good for eighth place out of 11 teams.
Newberry College won the team title with a second day total of 316, topping Cleveland State by one stroke. Alabama St. was third, followed by IUPUI, Butler, Valparaiso, Western Illinois and then the Blue Devils. Evansville, Eastern Illinois and Savannah State rounded out the field.
Junior Albrianna Farnum shot a day two score of 80 to finish in a tie for ninth place overall in the tournament. He two-day total was 162 and her 80 was the top round of the tournament for the Blue Devils.
Freshman Ella Williams cut five strokes off of her first round score and shot 81 on Tuesday. Her two-day total of 167 was good for a tie for 17th place overall.
Classmate Kaitlyn Stoddart shot a day two score of 92 to finish at 179 in a tie for 43rd place. Sophomore Sarah Boden took six strokes off of her first round score and shot an 89 on Tuesday. Her two-day total was 184, food for a tie for 49th place.
Senior Nicole Pizzoferrato made the most improvement from day one to day two for CCSU. She cut 14 strokes off her day one score and shot 90 on Tuesday. She finished in 57th place.
