Women's Golf Tied for Fourth at Delaware
Rounds two and three will be completed on Sunday
The Central Connecticut women's golf team sits in a tie for fourth place after the first round of the University of Delaware Lady Blue Hen Invitational. The first round was completed on Saturday, but because of a frost delay in the morning, the second round will have to be completed on Sunday.
Junior Albrianna Farnum is just two strokes back of the leader and sits in third place after a first round 73.
The tournament is being played at the Rehoboth Beach Country Club and is a par 71, measuring 5,978 yards. High winds were present during most of the day on Saturday.
As a team the Blue Devils shot a round one score of 318 and sit in a tie for fourth place with Towson. Delaware leads the tournament, followed by Rollins Collehe, Penn and then CCSU and Towson. Brown, LIU Brooklyn, Delaware, Monmouth and Delware State round out the 10-team field.
Freshman Kaitlyn Stoddart fired a round one total of 77 and is in a tie for eighth place. Classmate Ella Williams shot 83 and is in a tie for 29th. Sophomore Sarah Boden shot 85 and sits in a tie for 39th place, and senior Nicole Pizzoferrato shot 87 and is 45th.
The second round began on Saturday but could not be completed. The teams will complete round two and then play a third and final round on Sunday.
