Women's Golf Finishes Day One at Rutgers
The Central Connecticut women's golf team played Day One of the Rutgers Invitational on Monday.
The Central Connecticut women's golf team finished day one of the Rutgers Invitational in a tie for 13th place. The Blue Devils were led by junior Albrianna Farnum who shot an 80 and will enter Tuesday's play tied for 32nd. The tournament is being played on the Rutgers University Golf Course in Piscataway Township, New Jersey.
As a team CCSU shot a 334 in the first round, which tied with Fairfield University for 13th out of the 20 teams at the Rutgers Invitational.
Farnum's 80 was followed closely by freshman Ella Williams who shot an 82 and finished round one play tied for 58th.
Sophomore Sarah Boden shot an 84 to tied for 70th and freshman Kaitlyn Stoddart shot an 88 in the round and is currently tied for 92nd. Senior Elisabeth Beloin, who did not factor into CCSU's score for the round, shot an 89 and is currently tied for 96th place.
Delaware and Seton Hall currently share the team scoring lead with a round one score of 302.
Erin McClure of Seton Hall and Bridget Wilcox of Bucknell share the individual lead after the first round with a score of 73.
Northeast Conference foes LIU Brooklyn, Fairleigh Dickinson, St. Francis Brooklyn, Wagner and Sacred Heart are also playing in the event.
The tournament will conclude with tomorrow's second round.
