Woycik Named NEC Volleyball Rookie of the Year; Fish Earns All-NEC Second Team
The Blue Devils will face Sacred Heart on Saturday in the NEC Tournament.
Freshman Morgan Woycik and senior Rachel Fish of the Central Connecticut volleyball team earned All-Northeast Conference recognition at the league's pret-tournament banquet held on the eve of the postseason tournament in Fairfield, CT. Woycik was named the NEC Rookie of the Year and earned All-NEC First Team honors, while Fish was named to the All-NEC Second Team.
Woycik made an immediate impact, leading the Blue Devils with 259 kills and 2.51 kills/set. The top newcomer in the conference, she ranked 10th in hitting percentage in conference games with a .237 mark. In league games only, Woycik ranked eighth with 2.85 kills/set. She recorded at least 10 kills in a match 12 times, including a season-high 18 against LIU Brooklyn on November 6.
