Kaprelyan Named Molten/NEC Rookie of the Week
Blue Devils travel to Brown Invitational this weekend.
Freshman Madelyn Kaprelyan was named the Molten/Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week it was announced by the league office on Monday. It is the first career honor for Kaprelyan who led the Blue Devils at the Big Green Invitational last weekend.

Kaprelyan averaged 3.08 kills per set, hit .235 and registered 10 blocks to earn All-Tournament honors at the Big Green Invitational. She recorded a career-high 16 kills and four blocks in a five-set setback to host Dartmouth on Friday. She added 15 more against Army on Saturday and posted nine kills in a 3-2 win over Niagara to open the weekend. In the win over the Purple Eagles, the Huntington Beach, CA, native recorded the decisive kill in set four to send the match to a fifth and final set.
Kaprelyan's honor marked the third consecutive week that CCSU had the Rookie of the Week honoree after classmate Morgan Woycik earned the honor in the season's first two weeks.
Central returns to action at the Brown Invitational this weekend. The Blue Devils play New Mexico State on Friday night before facing Brown and Binghamton on Saturday.
