Swim & Dive Begins NEC Championships Wednesday
The Central Connecticut women's swimming & diving team heads to Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center on the campus of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, MA on Wednesday to begin the 2015 Northeast Conference Championships.

The championships run for four days from Wednesday, Feb. 25 to Saturday, Feb. 28 and can be viewed live, for free, on NECFrontRow.com.
NEC CHAMPIONSHIP HEADQUARTERS
Competition begins on Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. with a pair of relays, the 200 yard medley relay and the 800 yard freestyle relay. On Thursday, the teams will resume action at 11:00 a.m. with preliminary rounds for the 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free, 1-meter diving and 200 free relay. Thursday's finals round of the same events will begin at 7:00 p.m.
The Championships continue on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with the preliminaries for the 400 IM, 200 butterfly, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke and the 400 medley relay. The finals for those events are also set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
The final day of competition will be on Saturday, again starting with prelims at 11:00 a.m. for the 1,650 free, 200 backstroke, 100 free, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterly, 3-meter diving and the 400 free relay. Finals for those races will start at 7:00 p.m. and the meet will conclude after the crowning of the 2015 NEC Champion.
The Blue Devils finished third last year at the 2014 NEC Championships, scoring 628 points as a team. They finished behind the Wagner Seahawks who scored 844 points to win the championship and the Bryant Bulldogs who tallied 643.5 points to finish runner-up.
In regular season action this year, the Blue Devils topped both the Seahawks and Bulldogs in NEC dual meet competition. CCSU squared-off with Bryant back on Nov. 7 in Smithfield, RI and walked away with a huge 172-90 victory. Then, just two and a half weeks ago on Feb. 7, the Blue Devils defeated the defending NEC champion Seahawks 162-138 in Jack Suydam Natatorium at CCSU on Senior Day.
