Perkoski Earns Second NEC Honor
Senior Ashley Perkoski earned her second NEC Weekly Award of the season on Monday.
Senior attacker Ashley Perkoski was named Northeast Conference Co-Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. Perkoski led the Blue Devils to a pair of victories last week over NEC foes Robert Morris and St. Francis (PA).
Perkoski opened her week with an eight point performance in the 14-9 victory over Robert Morris. She scored five goals and recorded three assists in the game. Perkoski scored four consecutive goals in the second half to help the Blue Devils put the game out of reach.
She followed that performance with a seven point game against St. Francis on Sunday. Perkoski's four goals and three assists helped the Blue Devils defeat the Red Flash by a 16-10 score.
In all, Perkoski scored nine goals and had six assists. She made just nine shots over the two games, scoring on every shot attempt. Perkoski contributed to 15 of the Blue Devils' 30 goals over the two wins.
Perkoski finished the weekend with 27 assists on the season. She is now just two behind the Blue Devils' single-season record for assists.
Perkoski received NEC Player of the Week honors earlier this season for her performance in Central's 11-5 victory over Bryant.
The Blue Devils are 7-6 on the season and 5-2 in NEC play. The seven victories tie the program record set last season and the five conference wins are the most in program history.
Central returns to action on Wednesday night against Holy Cross. That game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on Arute Field and will be Senior Night for the Class of 2012.
