Women's Basketball Meets St. Francis Brooklyn On Senior Day
Prior to Saturday's match with St. Francis Brooklyn, CCSU will honor its three seniors, Aleah Epps, Chayla Lewis, and Giocelis Reynoso.
The Central Connecticut women's basketball team hosts St. FrancisBrooklyn on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 1:00 p.m. for Senior Day. The CCSU athleticdepartment will host a free clinic from 12-1 p.m. in the Kaiser Hall Bubble in celebration of NationalGirls and Women in Sports Day.

Previously For Both Teams • The Blue Devils lost a close match on Monday, Feb. 20 against Saint Francis U. 72-70. Cebria Outlow scored a career high 21 points to lead CCSU in scoring. SFBK was most recently stopped on the road at LIU Brooklyn, 62-58.
Series History (28-9) • Central holds a nine game advantage, 28-9, in the overall series with St.Francis Brooklyn. Earlier this season, the Blue Devils topped the Terriers, 61-53, on New Year's Eve. Kiana Patterson drained 6-of-12 from three-point land, accumulating to a game high 20 points for the sophomore. CCSU has gone 5-1 with SFBK through the past three seasons.
Tracking the Terriers • As a unit, St. Francis Brooklyn sits in second place with rebounding defense (34.5 per game), and assists (14.5 per game) in the Northeast Conference standings. In conference play, Olivia Levey leads the team in scoring with 11.6 ppg. and is first in free throwshooting percentage, 87.8%. Maria Palarino is the Terriers top rebounder, grabbing 6.1 per contest.
Record-Breaker • The sophomore broke the all-time CCSU school record for most single-season three-pointers, accumulating 62 on the year, passing Leanna Crockett's 61 three's ('10-'11). Patterson's six three's at St. Francis Brooklyn on Dec. 31, tied her for third all-time for most single-game three-pointers. Kiana ranks third in the NEC for three-point field goals made this season, averaging 2.3 per game.
Rejected by Reynoso • Senior Giocelis Reynoso sent back a career high five of Saint Francis' shots which ties her for fourth all-time for most blocked shots in a single-game. The NEC's second ranked shot-blocker (1.73 bpg), brings her season blocked shots total to 45, tying Jennifer Trask ('84-'85) in fourth place for most single-season blocked shots in school history.
Up Next For CCSU • Central Connecticut will wrap up its 2016-17 campaign on Monday, Feb. 27 at Bryant. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. in Smithfield, RI. The first round of the NEC Tournament will be held on March 5th, at a site and time to be determined.
