Women's Basketball Plays #25 Ranked Virginia Tech Wednesday Night
The Blue Devils will take the court inside the Cassell Colesium on Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m. against the #25 ranked Hokies of Virginia Tech.
The Central Connecticut women's basketball team will take the court against #25 nationally ranked Virginia Tech to wrap up its five game road series. The Blue Devils will tipoff inside of Cassell Colesium at 6:00 p.m. Central heads into the match at (1-6) on the year after falling to Syracuse, 95-63, on Sunday. The Hokies jumped into the national poll after defeating Gardner-Webb on Monday, 76-42, remaining unbeaten at a perfect (8-0) record.

CCSU was out-rebounded, 59-28, including 33 offensive boards for the Orange. Freshman Taylor Goode led the Blue Devils in scoring with a career high14 points. Syracuse increased their record to (6-3).
Adding Shannon • Central Connecticut women's basketball head coach Beryl Piper has announced the addition of Amanda Shannon to her staff as an assistant coach. Shannon most recently served as the recruiting coordinator at Saint Anselm College. Last season, Shannon helped Saint Anselm earn an at-large bid to the Division II NCAA Tournament. The berth marked the Hawks' first NCAA bid since the 1998-99 season. In three seasons at Saint Anselm, Shannon helped the program to 42 wins and helped three Hawks earn Northeast-10 First or Second Team honors and three more earn All-Rookie team recognition.
Countdown to NEC Play • After today's match against Virginia Tech, CCSU has only three non-conference games left until they enter conference play. The Devils will face its third AE opponent next, Stony Brook, followed by Boston College (ACC), and end their non-conference slate when they travel to New Hampshire (AE) on the 21st of December.
