Barlow is Awarded Akadema/NEC Rookie of the Week
Freshman Kelsey Barlow was named Northeast Conference softball rookie of the week for her performance against the Crusaders of Holy Cross and #$%^the Hawks of Monmouth last week. The award marks Barlow's first rookie of the week honor and she joins teammate freshman Macy Stefanski as the #$%^only two players to garner NEC softball rookie of the week honors for Central Connecticut since joining the Northeast Conference. Stefanski took #$%^home NEC player and rookie of the week as well as ECAC player of the week earlier this season.

Stefanski took home NEC player and rookie of the week as well as ECAC player of the week earlier this season.
Barlow led Central Connecticut last week with impressive power numbers over four games played. She hit four home runs on the week, giving her nine home runs on the season, and is the team's home run leader. The freshman is already seventh in the CCSU record book with her nine career home runs.
The Montville, CT native had 18 total bases in 11 at bats for a 1.636 slugging percentage on the week for the Blue Devils. Barlow batted in seven runs on six hits while hitting safely in all four games played last week, for a .545 batting average. The outfielder scored four runs and led the team with a .583 on base percentage on the week, thus garnering NEC Rookie of the Week for the first time in 2010.
Central Connecticut Softball and Barlow will play again Wednesday, April 28 at the University of Hartford where they will take on the Hawks at 2:30 for a non-conference doubleheader.
