Central Connecticut will be looking to bounce back after falling in a pair of games against league-leading Merrimack. Sophomore Greg Outlaw scored in double-figures in both contests last week and continues to lead the Blue Devils in scoring this season. Central will play three of its final four games at Detrick Gymnasium
Sacred Heart will be playing its first game since Jan. 31, a 76-64 loss at Mount St. Mary's. The Pioneers had its game vs. CCSU on Feb. 5 and its series against Bryant last weekend postponed. Prior to its pause, SHU had gone 4-2 in its previous six games.
JOHN THOMPSON TOWEL INITIATIVE
Coaches across the nation will pay tribute to John Thompson Jr. this week by wearing commemorative towels over their shoulders - mirroring the late coache's signature look. The NABC launched the initiative to honor Thompson for his lasting impact both on and off the court. Towels featuring an image of Thompson were distributed to every NABC-member head men's basketball coach in NCAA Divisions I, II and III and the NAIA. The towel initiative originated from the NABC Committee on Racial Reconciliation and more information is available HERE along with PHOTOS.
WITH A CCSU WIN THIS WEEK...
• Central will be looking to end an 11-game skid in the series against Sacred Heart.
• The Blue Devils would earn their 6th season split of an NEC series this season.
• Donyell Marshall would get a win against his 8th NEC school - he has earned wins against all schools except SHU and Merrimack.
