
Men's Basketball Travels to Saint Francis U for Back-to-Back Games
Central Connecticut men's basketball closes out the opening month of 2021 with a pair of road games to Saint Francis U this weekend. The teams will meet on Friday, Jan. 30, at 7:00 p.m. and again on Sunday, Jan. 31, at 4:00 p.m. at DeGol Arena. Although fans will not be in the stands, the games will stream for free on NEC Front Row.

Central will be looking to continue its winning ways after junior Nigel Scantlebury hit a game-winning three-pointer against Mount St. Mary's on Friday. Scantlebury had five points in the final 0:58 to help CCSU come back from a 61-55 deficit with 2:31 remaining. Sophomore Greg Outlaw (11.8 ppg) and junior Tre Mitchell (10.0 ppg) continue to lead CCSU in scoring, while junior Ian Krishnan posted his first back-to-back double-digit scoring games of the season last week. The Blue Devils are among the top half of the NEC rankings, connecting on 7.2 three-point field goals per game and converting at a 33.0 percent clip.
Saint Francis U split a pair of contests on Tuesday and Wednesday against preseason league favorite, Fairleigh Dickinson. The Red Flash topped 90 points in both matchups, falling in overtime on Tuesday before rebounding with a win on the second day. Ramir Dixon-Conover leads the team with 15.5 ppg, while Myles Thompson adds 11.5 points. SFU ranks second in the league in three-point field goal defense, holding opponents to just .282 shooting from the arc.

WITH A CCSU WIN THIS WEEK...
• Central will be looking to end a five-game slide in the series against SFU. The Blue Devils last defeated the Red Flash on Dec. 29, 2017 (72-68).
• CCSU will be in search of its first consecutive wins in 2020-21.
• The Blue Devils have the chance to collect their first road win of the campaign.
