
Men's Basketball Welcomes Merrimack on Thursday and Friday
CCSU will face Merrimack on ESPN+ on Thursday.
The Central Connecticut men's basketball returns to action with home games against Merrimack this week. The Blue Devils and Warriors will play on Thursday night in a game streamed on ESPN+. The squads will then play again on Friday night, tipping off on NEC Front Row.

Central has not played since a 85-77 win at Saint Francis U on Jan. 31 to earn a split of the weekend series. The Blue Devils got career-high outings from sophomore Myles Baker (24 pts) and junior Tre Mitchell (19 pts) and a total of 60 points from the reserves in that contest. CCSU had it's Feb. 5 game against Sacred Heart postponed and moved to Feb. 17. Central will play three straight at home and five of its final seven games in Detrick Gymnasium.
Merrimack has won five of six and finds itself tied atop the NEC standings with a 6-4 mark. The Warriors swept Saint Francis U last weekend and prior to that had a split with LIU and swept two games against Fairleigh Dickinson. Jordan Minor leads the team in both scoring (13.0 ppg) and rebounding (9.3 rpg).
WITH A CCSU WIN THIS WEEK...
• Central will be looking for its first win over Merrimack since MC joined the Northeast Conference prior to the 2019-20 season.
• CCSU will be in search of its first consecutive wins in the 2020-21 season.
• The Blue Devils have earned splits in 4 of 5 NEC series' this season.
• Tre Mitchell had a career-high 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting and 4-of-6 three-pointers on Sunday.
• Jamir Reed dished out a career-high 6 assists against just one turnovers in 32 minutes at Saint Francis U on Jan. 31.
• CCSU averaged 1.27 pts per possesion in the win, its best mark since Nov. 15, 2013 (1.29 vs. Brown).
UP NEXT:
The Blue Devils will host Sacred Heart on Feb. 17 in a rescheduled contest. Central will then play at LIU on Feb. 20-21. Although fans will not be in the stands, the games will stream for free on NEC Front Row.
