
Men's Basketball Hosts St. Francis Brooklyn in Season's First Home Games
Central Connecticut men's basketball makes its homecourt-debut at Detrick Gymnasium against St. Francis Brooklyn on Dec. 15 and 16. The teams will play at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday and 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. This season in Northeast Conference play, teams will play on back-to-back days to minimize travel. Although fans will not be in the stands, the games will stream for free on NEC Front Row.

CCSU and SFBK both earned a split in conference play to begin the conference season last week. Central upended the preseason league favorite on Tuesday, 94-87, before falling 79-71 in the second game. Junior Tre Mitchell has scored in double-figures in three straight games, while while junior Nigel Scantlebury averaged 6.0 assists per game. Sophomore Greg Outlaw had a double-double in last week's league-opener and leads the Blue Devils in scoring and rebounding. Mitchell also averages double-figures.
The Terriers played their first two games of the season when it hosted Bryant. Travis Atson averaged 18.5 points and 9.5 rebounds, while Unique McLean added 16.5 points and 7.0 rebounds.
Following the first week of league play, CCSU leads the league in shooting at .526, while ranking fourth in scoring (82.5 ppg). The Blue Devils are also second in three-point accuracy at .459. The Terriers rank second in league play at 87.5 points per game, but rank 10th in points allowed at 96.0 points per game. Atson is third in the league in scoring and had his first double-double in Wednesday's win for SFBK.

• CCSU had a season-high 21 assists and shot .638 from the field in Tuesday's win at FDU. It was the Blue Devils' best shooting output since Nov. 18, 2018 (.667 vs. Florida A&M)
