Head coach Donyell Marshall is set to begin his fifth season in charge of the Blue Devils and will be making his first trip to his alma mater as head coach. He was an All-American and 1993-94 BIG EAST Player of the Year during his career with the Huskies. The matchup features a pair of coaches who faced off in the BIG EAST as players. Marshall played at UConn (1991-94), while Dan Hurley played at Seton Hall (1991-96).
The Blue Devls boast a roster slated to welcome back four returning starters. Junior Ian Krishnan led the team in scoring at 12.5 points per game and connected on nearly 45 percent from three-point range. Sophomore Myles Baker was named to the NEC All-Rookie Team and scored 8.8 points per game in conference play while coming off the bench.
