Goldman NEC Co-Diver of the Week
For the sixth time this season, sophomore Jessica Goldman has been recognized by the NEC for her exceptional diving performance.
Jessica Goldman of the Central Connecticut swimming and diving team has been honored with her sixth NEC weekly award of the season, the league announced Tuesday. The sophomore earned NEC Co-Diver of the Week for her successful outing at Wagner on Saturday.
Goldman displayed an impressive diving performance at Wagner. She earned the gold medal in the 1-meter diving event, registering a score of 250.87. While her 1-meter score was shy of her CCSU record of 258.67, Goldman remains the only NEC diver to pass 250 points from 1-meter this season.
She also competed from 3-meters Saturday in which she finished second with her score of 223.20 and shares her NEC honor this week with fellow sophomore Erica Curry of Wagner.
Goldman, who took gold in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events at the NEC Championships last season as a freshman, will attempt to defend her titles when the conference championships start up on Wednesday, February 19 at MIT in Boston, MA. Competition is set to continue through Saturday, February 22.
