Kaitlyn Beaver Named NEC Diver of the Week
The sophomore led the CCSU divers at the Bucknell Invitational this past weekend.
Kaitlyn Beaver of the Central Connecticut women's swimming and diving team was honored with her first NEC Diver of the Week award in her tenure as a Blue Devil, the conference announced Tuesday. The sophomore led Central at the Bucknell Invitational this past weekend.
Beaver led the Blue Devils from both diving boards this past weekend at the Bucknell Invitational. The sophomore competed in the preliminary rounds in both events, scoring a 174.95 in the 1-meter (23rd of 31) and a 188.25 in the 3-meter for 15th place out of 25 divers.
In her first season at CCSU, Beaver has posted season-best scores of 214.80 from the 1-meter board and tallied 217.40 points from 3-meters.
Beaver's NEC Diver of the Week honor marks the fifth week this season that a Blue Devil diver has come away with the award.
The Hamden, CT native will be back in action, along with the rest of the CCSU squad, when the Blue Devils travel to the Orange Bowl Classic in Key Largo, FL on Jan. 3.
