Swim & Dive Completes Day One at Bucknell Invite
The Blue Devils will continue competition through Sunday, Nov. 24.
The Central Connecticut women's swimming and diving team completed day one of competition at the Bucknell Invitational on Friday evening. Freshman Christine Rasile posted the top individual performance for CCSU, racing a career-best 24.17 in the 50 yard freestyle event for 12th place out of 24 competitors.
The Blue Devils also demonstrated solid performances in both the 200 freestyle and 400 medley relays, claiming eighth-place finishes in both events. Rasile was joined by classmate Sabree Thomas and seniors Erin Massey and Kellen Power in the 200 free relay. The squad touched the wall in 1:39.38.
In the 400 medley relay, Rasile and Power along with senior Kristina Gulia and freshman Stephanie Czulewicz, finished the race in 3:56.35.
Thomas placed 15th in the 200 IM finals with her time of 2:11.45. She was followed by Czulewicz, who posted a time of 2:11.52, good for 22nd place.
Central also competed in the 500 yard freestyle in which seniors Kathryn Kiely and Power finished in 20th and 22nd, respectively. Kiely shattered her previous season-best finals time of 5:17.37, posting a time of 5:10.92 on Friday. Power completed the race in 5:12.15, also a season-best.
