Women's Soccer Leaps Into NEC Play Friday At Fairleigh Dickinson
The Blue Devils will face off with the Knights at University Stadium at 7:00 p.m.
The Central Connecticut women's soccer team kicks off its Northeast Conference eight-game slate on Friday, Sept. 29 on the road at Fairleigh Dickinson. The Blue Devils will take on the Knights at University Stadium in Teaneck, NJ at 7:00 p.m. Central currently sits in second place at 4-5 in the NEC behind Bryant and FDU stands in eighth at 2-7-2.

SERIES HISTORY • Central Connecticut holds a series advantage of 13-5 against the Knights. Last season the Blue Devils fell to FDU at home 2-0. The last time CCSU topped the New Jersey group in the 2014 NEC Championship, 2-0 at University Stadium.
LAST TIMEOUT • The Blue Devils most recently dropped their third Atlantic-10 opponent of the season, Temple, 1-0 on Saturday night. Central currently leads the Northeast Conference in shutouts with four.
HEADLINES • Two juniors, Ashley Cavanaugh and Danielle Pearse were tabbed by the Northeast Conference with a pair of weekly awards. Following the Blue Devils shutout victory over the Owls, Cavanaugh was named the NEC Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this year and Pearse was noted as the NEC Player of the Week for striking the game's lone goal on Saturday.
SCOUTING FDU • The Knights' Elma Kolenovic leads the team in points (10) and Sofia Albertsson has collected nine on the year. Kolenovia also leads the FDU offense with five goals.
