Women's Soccer Invites Saint Francis for Rematch Friday Night
The men's soccer team will play the first game with LIU Brooklyn at 4:00 p.m. in Friday's doubleheader.
The Central Connecticut women's soccer team will match up with the Saint Francis Red Flash for the first time since the 2016 Northeast Conference Championship game in Lorretto, PA last November 6. The Blue Devils shared the 2016 NEC Regular Season Title with SFU with an 6-2 record in league play. Central (5-7, 1-2 NEC) looks to hand Saint Francis U. its first loss in conference as the Keystone State team enters Friday night's contest with a record of 3-0 in the NEC and 6-6-1 overall.

GAME NOTES
SERIES HISTORY • Saint Francis holds a 11-9-3 overall advantage in the series history with the Blue Devils. Last time the two squads met at CCSU Soccer field back on Oct. 25, 2015 the battle resulted in a 1-1 double-overtime draw.
LAST TIMEOUT • Central most recently shutout in-state foe Sacred Heart 1-0 last Sunday on the road. Junior Danielle Pearse scored the game-winning goal on a header off of a cross from senior Brianna Scalderri who recorded her first assist of the season. Pearse leads the Blue Devils in points (7) and goals (3).
SCOUTING SFU • The Red Flash return their main gun, senior Gabi Morales, who was last year's Northeast Conference Player of the Year. Morales is second on the team in goals this year (4) as well as in assists with four. Sophomore Alyssa McGhee poses as SFU's most dangerous threat with a league-leading 17 points including five goals and seven assists. The high-powered Red Flash offense is first in the NEC in points (63), assists (21) and goals per game (1.62).
CCSU'S DEFENSE • The Blue Devils are ranked second in the conference in overall goals against average surrending just 1.08 per match and is in a three-way league leading five shutouts through 12 games, all were administered from junior keeper Ashley Cavanaugh who has posted 46 total saves at a .821 efficiency.
