Women's Soccer to Challenge Rhode Island Thursday
CCSU will look to top their second straight A-10 opponent at URI on Thursday.
The Central Connecticut women's soccer team will take on its second straight Atlantic-10 opponent with a Thursday night match at Rhode Island scheduled to kickoff at 7:00 p.m. The Blue Devils opened their 2017 season with a 3-0 shutout victory last Friday at Massachusetts.

The Rams' season-opened was spoiled with a 3-0 loss against the visiting Bryant Bulldogs. URI most recently defeated Vermont last Sunday 4-2 at home. In the win, URI senior Taylor Ross completed a hat trick and junior Madison Waldron added a goal of her own. Rhode Island is under the guidance of first-year head coach Megan Jessee.
Central rookie, Jenna Rae Covello had a loud collegiate debut last Friday at UMass. Covello scored twice, and junior Danielle Pearse contributed a goal of her own and assisted Covello on one of her two strikes. Junior Ashley Cavanaugh recorded her fourth career shutout as a Blue Devil.
