Trio Compete on Final Day of IC4A Championships Sunday
Three members of the CCSU men's outdoor track and field team competed on the final day of the IC4A Championships hosted by Princeton University on Sunday.
Three members of the Central Connecticut men's outdoor track and field team competed on the final day of the IC4A Championships hosted by Princeton University in Princeton, NJ on Sunday. Senior Malcolm Connor and freshman Edwin Alston qualified and competed in finals heats, while junior Jeremy Willis contested in the javelin.
Connor qualified to compete in the finals heat of the 800 meter run on Saturday by finishing inside the top-six in the preliminaries. In the finals, Connor ran 1:52.02 to finish in fourth place overall out of the final six runners.
Alston also advanced through the preliminaries and semifinals heats, but in the 110 meter hurdles and contested in the finals heat on Sunday in his first IC4A outdoor meet. The rookie finished in sixth place overall after sprinting to a time of 14.45 in the finals.
Willis had to wait until Sunday to compete in his event at the IC4A Chanpionships, but had a good showing in the men's javelin. He fired the implement 57.37 meters to record an 11th place finish out of 19 competitors.
