Alston Breaks School Record, Borecki Seventh at IC4A Championships Sunday
Edwin Alston and Sam Borecki competed for the CCSU men's indoor track and field team on Sunday at the IC4A Championships in Boston, MA.
A pair of Blue Devils competed for the Central Connecticut men's indoor track and field team at the 2016 IC4A Indoor Track and Field Championships on Sunday. Freshman Edwin Alston broke the CCSU school-record in the 60 meter hurdles and sophomore Sam Borecki finished seventh in the pole vault on the final day of the regional meet, which was held inside the BU Track and Tennis Center in Boston, MA.
OFFICIAL IC4A RESULTS
Alston, who broke his own CCSU school-record at the IC4A's on Saturday in the 60 meter hurdles semifinal heat, bettered his time in the finals heat on Sunday to set the new CCSU school standard on his way to a fifth place overall finish. He registered a scorching time of 8.05 to earn the result.
Borecki competed in the pole vault for the Blue Devils on Sunday and turned in a tied for seventh place overall finish out of 22 competitors in the event. The sophomore, who was the Northeast Conference Champion this year in the pole vault, cleared 4.80 meters on his third and final attempt to earn the finish.
