Alston, Henry Open Outdoor Season at USF Invitational
Freshmen Edwin Alston and Tyrik Henry of the CCSU men's track and field team opened their outdoor track and field season at the USF Invitational in Tampa, FL on Saturday.
Freshmen Edwin Alston and Tyrik Henry of the Central Connecticut men's track and field team opened their outdoor track and field season at the USF Invitational in Tampa, FL on Saturday. Alston and Henry both competed in the 110 meter hurdles running IC4A qualifying times, while Henry also ran a personal-best in the 100 meter dash for the Blue Devils at the meet.
USF INVITATIONAL RESULTS
Alston and Henry both opened the 2016 outdoor track and field season on a high note in the 110 meter hurdles. In their first collegiate 110 meter hurdle race, Alston finished first with a time of 14.69 and Henry placed third with a time of 14.76. The times also qualified the duo to compete in the IC4A Championships on May 14-15 at Weaver Stadium at Princeton University.
Henry also competed in the 100 meter dash on Saturday. The rookie clocked in a personal-best time of 11.28 to record a 24th place finish out of 40 runners.
Alston, Henry and the rest of the CCSU outdoor track and field team will return to action next when they host the CCSU Track & Field Invite on Saturday, April 2 at the CCSU Track & Field Complex in New Britain, CT.
