Batiste becomes second addition to the Blue Devils under head coach Donyell Marshall.
Central Connecticut head men's basketball coach Donyell Marshall has announced Tyson Batiste has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend CCSU and play basketball beginning in the Fall of 2016. A 6-foot-2 point guard, Batiste will join the Blue Devils for the 2016-17 season.
Batiste is from Springfield, MO, and most recently attended Notre Dame Preparatory School for a post-grad year. Batiste enjoyed a successful year with the Crusaders, and with his versatility in the backcourt, he worked his way into the starting lineup and helped the team qualify for the National Prep Championship.
Prior to attending Notre Dame Prep, Batiste attended Kickapoo High School in Springfield where he was a standout in a well-balanced lineup. At Kickapoo, he earned All-State honors as a senior when he led a balanced offense and averaged a team-high 10.1 points per game. Batiste helped lead the Chiefs to a 24-5 record and a Class 5 District 11 championship in 2014-15. As a junior, he posted three triple-doubles and averaged 9.1 points, 6.4 rebounds and 5.9 assists helping lead Kickapoo to the Class 5 District championship game with a 21-6 record.
