Men's Basketball Hosts Saint Francis U in NEC Basketball Doubleheader Saturday
Blue Devils host Red Flash in search of Northeast Conference win.
The Central Connecticut men's basketball team hosts Saint Francis U in a Northeast Conference basketball doubleheader on Saturday. The women's game precedes the men and tips off at 1:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at CCSUTickets.com or at the box office upon entry. Admission for all CCSU students, faculty and staff is free of charge with a valid Blue Chip card.

Last Time Out • Central Connecticut fell to Robert Morris, 59-45, on Thursday night. Kavon Stewart scored 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting and Elijah Minnie had 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting with a game-high nine rebounds to lead the Colonials. Junior JJ Cratit scored nine points to lead CCSU. Cratit made consecutive trifectas and junior Khalen Cumberlander added a layup to give the Blue Devils their last lead, 18-14, midway through the first half. Robert Morris answered with an 11-0 run to close the first half and led 25-18. The Colonials opened the second half with a 17-2 spurt and built a 42-20 lead and had a double-digit lead the rest of the way.
Scouting Saint Francis U • The Red Flash rallied from a 19-point deficit to defeat Bryant, 71-65, on Thursday night. Isaiah Blackmon led four players in double-figures with 19 points. Josh Nebo chipped in with a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds. Greg Brown averages a team-high 13.8 points per game to lead four double-digit scorers. Ronnie Drinnon is the team's top rebounder at 8.9 per game. The Red Flash shot over 61 percent from the field in the second half at Bryant and ranks third in NEC games shooting .455 from the field overall.
Next Up • Central Connecticut hosts Bryant on Thursday, Jan. 28, for a 7:00 p.m. contest in the third of four straight home games for the Blue Devils.
