Men's Basketball Wraps Up Homestand Versus St. Francis Brooklyn on Saturday
Blue Devils play fourth straight game at home on Saturday afternoon.
The Central Connecticut men's basketball team wraps up its four-game homestand and welcomes St. Francis Brooklyn to Detrick Gymnasium on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. The Blue Devils are coming off their first Northeast Conference win of the season, having defeated Bryant on Thursday.
The men's game will follow the CCSU and SFBK women's contest, which tips off at 1:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at CCSUTickets.com or at the box office upon entry. Admission for all CCSU students, faculty and staff is free of charge with a valid Blue Chip card.

Last Time Out • Brandon Peel scored a career-high 22 points and matched a personal-best with 18 rebounds to help the Blue Devils record a 78-67 win over Bryant. Central had five players in double-figures with Jahlil Nails (17 points), Khalen Cumberlander (12), Austin Nehls (10) and Evan Phoenix (10) all helping CCSU pick up its first Northeast Conference win. Central trailed, 55-44, with 13:04 to play before using a 9-0 run to open an 18-6 spurt and take a 62-61 lead with 5:15 to play. The Bulldogs regained the lead, 63-62, before being outscored, 16-4, to end the game. Peel added five assists as CCSU recorded 10 steals and committed just 10 turnovers in the game.
Scouting St. Francis Brooklyn • The Terriers fell at Wagner, 64-61, on Thursday. St. Francis trailed 62-54 with 1:30 to play and had a chance to tie on the final possession before falling short. Yunus Hopkinson scored a game-high 18 points. Tyreek Jewell is the team's leading scorer at 12.6 points per game. Amdy Fall grabs a team-best 7.1 rebounds and ranks second in the NEC with 1.91 blocks per game. In conference play, the Terriers allow a league-low 62.1 points per game and allow opponents to shoot just .377 from the field.
Next Up • Central Connecticut will play its next four games on the road, beginning with a Feb. 4 game at Robert Morris. The Blue Devils will be home next on Feb. 18 against Mount St. Mary's.
