Harrison Kay Signs NLI With Men's Basketball
The Blue Devils add their fifth commitment for the upcoming season.
The Central Connecticut men's basketball team and head coach Donyell Marshall announced Harrison Kay has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend CCSU in the Fall of 2016. Kay, a talented frontcourt player, becomes the fifth commitment for Marshall and the Blue Devils for the upcoming 2016-17 season.
"Harrison is a player we felt that we had to get with this class," Marshall said. "He's a multi-dimensional big man as far as the things he can do going inside and posting up, as well as on the perimeter shooting three's. I just thought that the way we were going with the class, we needed size and we needed someone of his caliber. Coach Witcoskie did a wonderful job of getting his game film and getting to him right away and getting it done. We felt like with the players we got before him that he was the key piece to this recruiting class."
Kay is a 6-foot-11, 240 pound multi-dimensional forward from Bishop Amat High School in La Puente, CA. He averaged a double-double and led his team in scoring and rebounding as a senior to earn All-CIF Southern Section Division 3A First Team honors. Kay led the Lancers to a 22-6 record and a trip to the second round of the CIF-Southern Section Division 3A Championship.
A rugged player in the frontcourt with the ability to step out and shoot from the perimeter, Kay was selected to play in the 13th Annual Tribune/Star-News All-Star Classic and helped the Lancers to a #10 ranking in the final CIF Southern Section poll.
