Dana Wins Ted Owen Invite Individual Title
CCSU finishes third in tightly contested team race
Ashley Dana pulled away over the last mile to capture the individual crown for the women at the 2022 Ted Owen Invitational. The Blue Devils placed four runners in the top-14, finishing third with 58 points, 11 shy of team champion Rhode Island.
KEY PERFORMANCES
- Dana was in the lead group for the entire race, and shed the runner-up in the final mile, crossing at 18:01, in her final Ted Owen race
- The individual win is the second of the season for Dana
- Brooke Morabito finished seventh in a time of 18:17; 17 seconds faster then her fifth-place run at the 2021 Ted Owen
- Kaitlyn Stevens (18:50) placed 13th, followed by Rebecca Carusone (18:55), with Maegan Desmarais rounding out the top-five in a time of 19:17, good for 23rd
