Dana Wins Athlete of the Week for the Fourth Time This Season; Desmarais Takes Rookie of the Week
Senior, Ashley Dana, and freshman, Maegan Desmarais represented the Blue Devils in this week's Northeast Conference Awards. Dana secured Athlete of the Week honors for the fourth time this season and Desmarais earned title of Rookie of the Week.
Senior, Ashley Dana, and freshman, Maegan Desmarais represented the Blue Devils in this week's Northeast Conference Awards. Dana secured Athlete of the Week honors for the fourth time this season and Desmarais earned title of Rookie of the Week.
Dana was named Athlete of the Week thanks to an impressive showing at the CCSU Mini Meet on Friday. Dana finished second out of 74 runners with a time of 9:54 to lead the Blue Devils to a third-place finish.
Desmarais earned Rookie of the Week after finishing 27th with a time of 10:42. She was a top-10 freshman finisher and was the first freshman from the NEC to cross the finish line.
Brooke Morabito and Kaitlyn Stevens were also honored by the NEC and were named Prime Performers. Morabito finished third with a time of 10:02 and Stevens took 11th in 10:24.
The women's cross country team will be back in action on Friday, October 28th for the NEC Championship in Loretto, PA. The Blue Devils will be competing for their fifth straight NEC title.
