Women's Cross Country Grabs Four All-NEC Selections, Two All-Rookie
After winning their fifth straight Northeast Conference Championship, the Central Connecticut women's cross country team had four runners selected to the All-NEC teams and two making the All-Rookie team.
After winning their fifth straight Northeast Conference Championship, the Central Connecticut women's cross country team had four runners selected to the All-NEC teams and two making the All-Rookie team.
The All-Conference teams are made up of the first 14 runners to cross the finish line at the NEC Championship and All-Rookie teams are comprised of the top 7 rookie finishers. CCSU had four finishers in the top 14, including two in the top 5. The Blue Devils finished with a final score of 47.
The All-NEC team is comprised of Ashley Dana (second place - 17:51.6), Brooke Morabito (third place - 18:02.6), Kaitlyn Stevens (13th place - 18:47.3), and Maegan Desmarais (14th place - 18:49.8). Desmarais and Kayle Gravel (38th place – 19:50.0) were both named to the NEC All-Rookie team.
Women's cross country had a second place finish at the Father Bede Invitational, a third place finish at the Ted Owen Invitational, and second place finishes at both the CCSU Mini Meet and New England Championships.
CCSU has had four Athlete of the Week honors this season (Dana 4x) and one Rookie of the Week selection (Desmarais).
