Blue Devils Ready to Compete for NEC Women's Indoor Title
The NEC Championship will take place in the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
The Central Connecticut women's indoor track and field team will compete for the 2020 Northeast Conference title on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 21 and 22 inside the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, NY. The women's championship track events begin on Friday with the 60 meter hurdles preliminary round at 9:20 a.m and will conclude for day one at 2:00 p.m. after the 3,000 meter run finals.

Last year, CCSU finished fifth at the 2019 NEC Championship meet. The team totaled 63 points and earned six medals. Mount St. Mary's was crowned the champion with 138 points.
Seniors Megan Brawner and Hailey Rospierski combined for four medals last year. Brawner earned the silver in the one mile with a time of 5:03.97 and the bronze medal in the 800-meter run.
Rospierski earned two silver medals. She recorded a time of 8.85 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles beating her previous personal best of 8.86 seconds. In the women's high jump, Rospierski leaped 1.67 meters to bring home the silver.
Following the championship, Central competes at the BU Last Chance Qualifier on Friday, February 28 in Boston, MA.
