Women's Indoor Track and Field Wins Four Golds at NEC Championships on Saturday
Senior Megan Brawner won a pair of individual events and a relay gold medal.
The Central Connecticut women's indoor track and field team won a total of four events on the final day of the 2020 Northeast Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday. Senior Megan Brawner and junior Angie Rafter shared the Most Outstanding Track Performer (Distance) honors. Brawner won two individual events and a relay gold medal on the second day of the championships. Junior Angie Rafter won her second event of the weekend, just ahead of teammate freshman Ashley Dana in the 800 meter. The duo would join Brawner and freshman Magnalen Camara on the distance medley relay champion.
CCSU finished sixth in the team standings with 63 points. Fairleigh Dickinson won the team championship with 109 points.

- Brawner won her first event of the day in the one-mile run with a time of 5:01.42. She followed that up with a convincing win in the 5000 meter run, turning in a time of 18:01.78.
- Angie Rafter and Ashley Dana finished 1-2 in the 800 meter final. Rafter won gold in 2:17.18, followed by Dana at 2:17.45.
- Dana ran leadoff for the DMR and handed off to Magnalen Camara. Brawner and Rafter ran the last two legs for CCSU and helped the Blue Devils earn gold with a time of 12:07.76, nearly 17 seconds ahead of the second-place finishers.
- Hailey Rospierski placed fourth in the 60 meter hurdles final with a time of 8.86.

The BU Last Chance Qualifier is on Friday, Feb. 28, and the IC4A/ECAC Championships are March 6-8.
