Blue Devils Complete Weekend at Rutgers Frank Elm Invitational
Gomez, Garber and Devers all post top performances over the weekend
The Central Connecticut women's swimming and diving team completed the weekend at the Frank Elm Invitational at Rutgers University on Sunday. The Blue Devils finished the weekend in eighth place in the 14 team field. The Blue Devils finished the weekend invite with 406 points.
Sophomore Valentina Gomez began the third day of action with a 16th place finish in the 1,650 freestyle, coming in in 17:22.85. Senior Luna Milne was 29th with a time of 19:06.85 in the same event.
Junior Aidan Devers finished fifth in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:00.17.
Senior Maddy Garber finished eighth in the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:20.29. Sophomore Gracie Regan was 18th in the same event, and second in the C final, with a time of 2:22.79. Sophomore Erika Maercklein finished 29th overall with a time of 2:28.43.
Gomez had another strong performance, this time in the 200 yard butterfly. She finished seventh overall with a time of 2:05.41. Milne was 32nd in the same event with a time of 2:20.89.
The Blue Devils ended the weekend with an 18th place finish in the 400 yard freestyle relay. Maercklein, junior Kaitlyn Troy, senior Lauren Czulewicz and Regan swam a time of 3:33.49.
