Swimming and Diving Hosts New Hampshire in Dual Meet Over the Weekend
Blue Devils will compete at Wagner on Nov. 3-4 next weekend
The Central Connecticut women's swimming and diving team competed in a two-day dual meet vs. the University of New Hampshire over the weekend, dropping a 206-144 decision to the visiting Wildcats.
The Blue Devils opened Saturday's second day with a second place finish in the 200 yard medley relay. Junior Kaitlyn Troy, senior Maddy Garber, sophomore Valentina Gomez and senior Lauren Czulewicz finished with a time of 1:47.22.
Sophomore Gracie Regan was fourth in the 400 yard individual medley in a time of 4:44.64 while classmate Keelin Kendall was fifth in 4:51.03.
Czulewicz finished second in the 200 freestyle with a time of 54.38. Troy was fourth in 55.92 and sophomore Grace Fredricks was sixth in 57.88.
Junior Aidan Devers won the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:05.10. Freshman Erin Brown was fifth in a time of 2:21.08 and sophomore Ivy Milne was sixth in 2:16.14.
Sophomore Kirsten Bednarz finished third in the 3 meter diving event with a score of 199.60.
Gomez posted a first place finish in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 57.73. Junior Victoria Poole was fifth in 1:02.75 and senior Luna Milne was sixth in 1:05.22.
Devers picked up her second win of the day, this time in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:06.75. Regan was fourth in 5:19.92.
Garber picked up a big win in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:20.84. Kendall was fifth in 2:33.77 and Grace Fredricks was sixth in 2:39.26.
The Blue Devils posted second and fourth place finishes in the 400 freestyle relay to end the meet.
Central is back in action next weekend on the road at Wagner, in a meet that will also include Bryant.
