Friedmann Tabbed Winter Scholar Athlete
Taylor Friendmann was named to the 2011-12 Winter Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll and 40 Blue Devils earned a place on the Academic Honor Roll.
Central Connecticut swimming & diving junior Taylor Friedmann was named to the 2011-12 Winter Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll on Thursday. In addition, 40 student-athletes were named to the NEC's Academic Honor Roll, which was highlighted by six Blue Devils on the Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Friedmann comes off a stellar 2012 NEC Championship meet in which she won the 200 and 500 freestyle events. The junior placed second in the 1,650 free for the Blue Devils.
Friedmann also anchored CCSU relay teams in the 400 free, 800 free and 400 medley. Each of these relay teams finished second, as well as a third place finish in the 200 free relay event.
Freidmann earned a pair of first team All-NEC accolades along with a second team honor for her performance. She is the school record holder in the 200 and 500 freestyle. The junior is a mathematics education major with a 3.59 grade point average.
To be named to the academic honor roll a student-athlete must maintain a grade point average above 3.20.
The commissioner's honor roll has a GPA requirement of a 3.75.
