Lacrosse Celebrates Seniors Prior To Home Finale
Gianakos tallies sixth hat trick of the season in her final home game
The Central Connecticut women's lacrosse team fell 17-4 to visiting Northeast Conference foe Stonehill College Saturday on Senior Day at Arute Field.
The Blue Devils honored seven members of the senior class prior to the game. The student-athletes recognized on Saturday were: Madison Cowdin, Olivia Gianakos, Gaby Melendez, Katelyn Parker, Madison Palumbo, Kate Ravizza and Adrianna Richards.

KEY MOMENTS
- Stonehill scored the first three tallies fo the game, building a 3-0 lead midway through the first quarter
- Gianakos tallied the Blue Devils first goal with 6:27 remaining in the period, but the Skyhawks scored four in the final 4:58 of that period for a 7-1 advantage
- Katelyn Parker converted an 8-meter goal to open the second quarter
- Stonehill scored eight consecutive goals to close out the second quarter and through the third, to build a 15-2 lead
- Gianakos scored twice in the final period for the Blue Devils
NOTES
- Gianakos recorded her sixth hat trick of the season on Saturday, as well as causing four turnovers and picking up four ground balls
- Cowdin had five draw controls, four ground balls and three caused turnovers for CCSU
- Adrianna Richards made 10 saves
- Talie Richardson finished with three draw controls, two ground balls and a caused turnovers
- Five Stonehill players had hat tricks Saturday, led by the eight points (3G, 5A effort from Lydia Rudden)
