Lacrosse Drops Midweek Game To Quinnipiac
Bernier records three caused turnovers
The Central Connecticut women's lacrosse team fell 16-5 to visiting Quinnipiac University Wednesday afternoon on Arute Field.
The teams traded goals through the first 16 minutes of play, before the Bobcats used a 7-0 half ending run to take control of the game.

- Quinnipiac opened the scoring 63 seconds into the opening period on a goal from Sophia Iaccino
- Olivia Poggi answered for CCSU with an unassisted tally at the 6:31 mark and the score was tied for 13 seconds until EllaGrace Delmond struck for a 2-1 Bobcat advantage
- Talie Richardson scored an equalizer at 4:47, but again Delmond answered quickly, netting the go-ahead goal with 3:09 to play in the first quarter
- Lauren Valluzzi opened the second quarter scoring 58 ticks into the period to tie the score 3-3
- Iaccino scored consecutive man-down goals, 13 second apart, to start a 7-0 Bobcat run that gave the visitor a 10-3 lead at the intermission
- The Bobcats scored the only four goals of the third quarter, building a 14-3 lead
- Poggis (10:34) and Olivia Gianakos (7:14) scored consecutive goals in the fourth quarter for CCSU

- Poggi had two goals in a game for the second consecutive outings
- Kya Risher made 10 saves in 55:27 in net, her third double-digit save effort of the season
- Richardson recorded a game-high five draw controls
- Brieanna Bernier had three caused turnovers
- Desiree Kleberg led the QU offense with a hat trick and two assists
