
Lacrosse Earns 18-4 Win Over Visiting Hartford
Cowdin wins 10 draws; 10 Blue Devils score in victory
The Central Connecticut women's lacrosse team won its final non-confernece home game of the season, defeating visiting Hartford 18-4 Tuesday afternoon.
The Blue Devils received goals from 10 different players on the day, led by Talie Richardson's hat trick.
Madison Cowdin recorded 10 draw controls for the Blue Devils, equaling the program's single-game record originally set by head coach Betsy Vendel, March 15, 2011 versus Liberty.

- Talie Richardson won the opening draw and 51 seconds later Olivia Poggi netted a Chloe Leiter pass to give CCSU a lead it would not relinquish
- CCSU scored the only goals of the first quarter, with two of the six goals being man-down
- Leiter started the second-half with consecutive goals and the Blue Devils took a 10-0 lead at the 4:44 mark on the third man-down goal of the game, this time from Katelyn Parker
- Emily Steele scored with 89 seconds left in the half for the Hawks, but Madison Palumbo answered to give CCSU the 11-1 lead at intermission
- Lily Belle Baker scored a free position for the Hawks early in the third quarter, before CCSU scored four unanswered to take a 15-2 lead entering the final period
- Steele started the fourth quarter scoring, 21 seconds into the period and scored again with 10:40 to play
- CCSU tallied three fourth quarter goals, from three different players to provide the final margin

- Gaby Melendez recorded a team-best four ground balls and CCSU collected 24 on the day
