NEC Tabs CCSU 2nd In Preseason Poll
Men's golf was picked to finish second in the NEC this spring.
The Central Connecticut men's golf team was selected to finish second in the Northeast Conference this spring. The 2013 spring preseason coaches poll was released on Thursday.
Central was slated behind only Sacred Heart who picked up six first-place votes. The Blue Devils, who earned two first-place votes, finished ahead of third-place LIU Brooklyn and fourth-place Robert Morris. Saint Francis U rounded out the top-five of the poll.
Defending NEC Champion Mount St. Mary's was tabbed sixth with one first-place vote followed by Fairleigh Dickinson, Monmouth, Bryant, Wagner, and St. Francis Brooklyn.
Central will look to improve on a sixth-place finish from the conference tournament last spring season. The Blue Devils shot a team score of 928 last year. The Blue Devils have won four NEC titles since joining the conference in 1997 (1997, 2002, 2003, and 2005).
