Men's Golf Slated 2nd by Golfweek
Golfweek.com selected Central to finish second in their NEC preseason poll.
The Central Connecticut men's golf team was tabbed to finish second in the Northeast Conference this spring in a preseason poll by Golfweek.com. The Blue Devils were ranked 217th in the country by Golfweek.
Cross-state rival Sacred Heart was picked to win the NEC in the spring. Saint Francis U and Monmouth were tabbed second and third behind Central. LIU-Brooklyn rounded out the poll's top-five.
Fairleigh Dickinson faired sixth while Bryant and Robert Morris were picked seventh and eighth. Reigning NEC Champion Mount St. Mary's found the tail-end of the poll finishing ninth ahead of only Wagner and St. Francis Brooklyn.
The Blue Devils will look to improve from their sixth place finish at last season's conference tournament. Since 1997, the Blue Devils have won the NEC Tournament four times: 1997, back-to-back in 2002 and 2003, and their most recent championship coming in 2005.
The NEC Tournament will be held at the LPGA International Legends Course in Daytona Beach, FL from May 3rd - May 5th 2013. Central will begin their spring slate at LPGA International on March 22nd until March 27th for their Spring Trip.
