Football Game Against Bryant to be on ESPN3
Central Connecticut hosts Bryant at Arute Field for a 12:00 p.m. kickoff to be streamed on ESPN3. CCSU is coming off a convincing win at Merrimack, while the Bulldogs are in a three-way tie for first place.
Fans will be permitted at Arute Field and are asked to review the Fan Attendance Policy for fall/winter sports at CCSU. Tailgating will not be allowed on the campus of CCSU.

TODAY'S GAME • Central plays host to Bryant on Saturday at Noon in the Northeast Conference ESPN3 game. The Blue Devils dominated at Merrimack last weekend to end a losing slide and will welcome the Bulldogs who are currently tied for first-place in the league standings.
COVID-19 HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS • All outside visitors attending games at Arute Field this season are asked to follow the health & safety protocols put in place at CCSU. Vaccinated individuals are not required to wear a mask outdoors. Non-vaccinated individuals are required to wear a mask. The wearing of face masks is required indoors at all CCSU athletics facilities. Masks must cover the nose and mouth and have tension that reasonably seals both the top and bottom of the mask. Individuals are required to follow the state's 3 feet physical distancing guideline both indoors and outdoors. Visitors to campus who are not registered CCSU faculty, staff or students, are required to complete the campus visitor symptom tracker (bit.ly/3lbtYjr) prior to coming to campus. DAWSON RUNS WILD • Aaron Dawson was named the Northeast Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Nov. 1. He ran for a season-best 164 yards on 36 carries and had a touchdown. He also had 40 yards on three catches. It was his most yards since a 361-yard outing against Wagner on Oct. 27, 2018, and he was the first Blue Devil to have at least 30 carries in a game since Brenden Lytton had 30 carries against Sacred Heart on Nov. 8, 2014.
CABRAL-MARTIN LEADS DEFENSE AT MERRIMACK • Jonathan Cabral-Martin was recognized by the Northeast Conference on Nov. 1, and named Defensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week. He totaled four solo stops, one forced fumble, 1.0 tackle-for-loss, one fumble recovery for a touchdown and one pass break-up in a 49-21 win at Merrimack. He scored on a 30-yard fumble return and helped the CCSU defense limit Merrimack to a NEC single-game season-low -38 net rush yards.
TIME OF POSSESSION • The Blue Devils control the ball for an average of 35:01 per game, which leads the Northeast Conference and the NCAA FCS football subdivision. CCSU held the ball for a season-high 53:51 in the opener against Southern Connecticut. Central held the ball for just 26:19 in its win at Wagner - a season-low.
BOOMING BLUE DEVIL • Freshman Aidan Clark has been strong in the punting game for CCSU. He ranks fifth in the Northeast Conference, averaging 37.3 yards per punt, while putting nine kicks inside the 20. He has a long of 60 yards that he boomed at Wagner. Against Miami, he put four punts inside the 20 and ripped off three kicks of at least 50 yards, including a long of 58 yards.
APPLYING PRESSURE • Senior Kelvin Apari is among the CCSU and NEC defensive leaders. He is second on the team with 38.0 tackles, while also leading CCSU with 3.5 sacks, which ranks 5th in the NEC, and has 10 tackles for loss which ranks 2nd in the league. He ranks 11th nationally in the FCS in TFL per game. Apari had a season-best 14.0 tackles against Columbia, which included 1.5 sacks and 4.0 TFL.
CONFERENCE PLAY • CCSU has posted a league-best 19-4 record in Northeast Conference play since 2017. The Blue Devils finished 7-0 in Northeast Conference play in 2019 after posting a 6-0 mark in 2017 and a 4-2 record in 2018. CCSU became the first NEC team to win seven league games in 2019 since both Wagner and Albany finished 7-1 in 2012.
