Football Announces Five Signings
Central Connecticut announced the addition of five newcomers on Football Signing Day on Wednesday. Head coach Ryan McCarthy.
"We are proud to welcome these five talented student-athletes into our program, as they bring a wealth of talent to New Britain," McCarthy said of the group. "Our coaching staff identified these five individuals very early in the recruiting process, as we benefitted greatly from the opportunity to see them compete either in person on our campus or at various institutions this past summer. We knew with every interaction with both them and their families that they would be great fits for the Central Connecticut program and the New Britain community. We look forward to adding to this multi-talented group in the upcoming February signing period."
A look at the five Blue Devils signees and what they will bring to the roster:
Kimal Clark | DB | 5-9, 190 | St. Francis HS
Kimal joins us from the highly regarded St. Francis HS program in Buffalo, NY. He adds to an impressive list of college prospects who have been mentored by Western New York coaching legend, Jerry Smith. Kimal is a very physical corner who has great feet, natural instincts and demonstrates the ability to aggressively tackle ball carriers in space. We also believe he will be an immediate contributor to our special teams' units.
Jordan Jackson | WR | 6-2, 185 | University Prep HS
Jordan comes to Central Connecticut from University Prep HS in Rochester, NY. He possesses length, superb body control and excels at winning one-on-one matchups. We believe Jordan has unlimited potential and will have every opportunity to compete relatively early at our X receiver position.
Ahron McReynolds | DL | 6-2, 250 | Union HS
Ahron comes to New Britian from Union High School in Union, NJ. He was identified early in the recruiting process and excelled at our one-day prospect camp in July. Ahron plays with a very high motor and we believe possesses the ability to line up at multiple positions on our defensive front. We are very excited to add Ahron to the defensive line room.
Max Pierre-Louis | WR | 6-4, 180 | Norwich Free Academy
Max is an in-state product who comes to us by way of Norwich Free Academy. He is another guy we identified very early in the process going all the way back to his sophomore year in high school. Max has great size and explosiveness and will be a match up problem for opposing defenses in the red zone. We are very excited Max decided to stay home and will help add to the growing number of outstanding Connecticut players in the program.
Malachi Wright | LB | 6-1, 220 | West Haven HS
Malachi is another Connecticut student-athlete who we have had on our radar since his time at both West Haven High School and Choate-Rosemary. He is an instinctual player who is highly coachable and works very hard at improving in both the mental and physical aspects of the game. Malachi took full advantage of his prep year at Choate by adding an additional 10-15 LBS. to his frame.
