Women's Golf Finishes Fourth, Abrahamova Third at Northeast Conference Championships
Freshman shoots another 72 on Sunday to finish in third place
Freshman Kristyna Abrahamova shot a third round score of 72 and the Central Connecticut women's golf team shot a 306 in the third and final round of the Northeast Conference women's golf championships on Sunday in Daytona Beach, FL. The Blue Devils finished with a three-round score of 932, just two shots back of LIU Brooklyn, and in fourth place.
Sacred Heart won the team title with a three round score of 888, 32 strokes ahead of second place Fairleigh Dickinson (920). LIU Brooklyn was third (930), followed by CCSU, Wagner (937), St. Francis U (964) and then St. Francis Brooklyn (1172).
Abrahamova was terrific all weekend long for the Blue Devils, shooting rounds of 77-72-72 to finish with a score of 221, just three shots behind the leaders. Her third round scored was the third best overall score in the entire field on Sunday.
Senior Ella Williams fired a 77 on Sunday and finished tied for 14th place overall with a score of 236 (78-81-77).
Senior Kaitlyn Stoddart who a 79 on Sunday and finished at 238 (80-79-79) in a tie for 16th place overall.
Junior Tara Whelan fired a third round score of 78, and finished alone in 19th place with a score of 239. Classmate Cecy Gutierrez shot 81 on Sunday and finished in a tie for 20th place with a score of 241 (80-80-81).
