Women's Golf Finishes Sixth at Quinnipiac Classic
Freshman Kristyna Abrahamova leads Blue Devils with three round score of 245
Freshman Kristyna Abrahamova paced the Central Connecticut women's golf team with a 78 in Tuesday's third and final round of the Quinnipiac Classic as the Blue Devils finished in sixth place in the 11 team field. The Blue Devils shot a third round score of 338 to finish the tournament with a score of 1010 over the three rounds.
Abrahamova, who shot 83-84 on Monday, shot a team-best score of 78 on Tuesday to lead CCSU. She posted 39 on both the from and the back nine, including a pair of birdies on the day. She finished in a tie for 12th place overall.
Junior Tara Whelan shot 88 on Tuesday to finish with a score of 256. She was tied for 32nd place overall.
Senior Ella Williams shot 85, improving one stroke from each of her rounds on Monday. She finished with a score of 257 and tied for 34th place.
Junior Cecy Gutierrez shot 87 to finish at 258 in a tie for 37th place and senior Kaitlyn Stoddart shot a 96 in the final round to finish at 263, in a tie for 47th place overall.
St. John's won the team title with a score of 946, followed by Albany (969), Sacred Heart (974), Navy (987), Quinnipiac (995) and then CCSU. Monmouth, Hofstra, Hartford, LIU Brooklyn and Fairfield rounded out the field.
