Women's Golf Finishes Seventh at Navy Spring Invitational
Abrahamova ties for 17th place overall
The Central Connecticut women's golf team shot a day two score of 327, 10 strokes better than Saturday's round, and moved up one spot to finish in seventh place at the Navy Spring Invitational on Sunday.
Harvard won the team title with a score of 620, followed by Lehigh (639), Dartmouth (641), Fairleigh Dickinson (648) and Youngstown State (650) rounded out the top five. Navy (659) was sixth, followed by CCSU (664), LIU Brooklyn (669), St. Francis U (681) and Siena (688) were in the top 10. Niagara (723) and LaSalle (806) rounded out the field.
The Blue Devils were led by freshman Kristyna Abrahamova who fired a second round score of 78 to finish with a total of 163 and a tie for 17th place overall.
Senior Kaitlyn Stoddart shot 86 on Sunday to finish with a score of 164 in a tie for 20th place. Classmate Ella Williams shot 81 and finished at 167, tied for 28th.
Junior Tara Whelan shot 82 on Sunday, six strokes better than Saturday's round, and finished at 170, tied for 34th. Junior Cecy Gutierrez shot 89 and finished at 180 in a tie for 54th.
